Do you have a fridge rental question?

We understand that you might like to find out more about our refrigeration hire services. You’re not alone! We’re often asked about what we offer and we are more than happy to give you the answers you need. And to save you time, here are some of the most common fridge rental questions we’re asked.

General fridge rental questions

What areas do Refrigeration Rentals cover?
We can supply fridges and other equipment to all parts of the UK and Ireland.

How long can my rental contract last?
We offer flexible fridge rental contracts, which can range from a single day to three years and beyond. If you get in touch with us, a member of our sales team will tailor a fridge rental package that suits your exact needs.

Are there any up-front costs to pay?
Yes, there are. We require full payment prior to delivery if you hire a fridge on a short-term basis (up to 12 weeks). For longer term rental contracts, we require delivery and collection costs, as well as the first month’s payment in advance.

Can I purchase equipment at the end of my contract?
No. We are purely a rental business and that means we don’t sell any of our products. We collect all refrigeration equipment at the end of your fridge hire agreement – unless your contract is renewed.

Is insurance included within a fridge rental contract?
Yes – with our optional damage waiver insurance. This can be bought at the contract stage and it will cover you against any accidental damage that might occur during your refrigeration hire period.

Can I exchange my fridge for a newer model at the end of my contract?
If you hire a fridge for longer than 12 months, then the answer is yes! We give long-term fridge rental customers the option to swap their unit for a newer model at the end of the contract agreement. This is subject to transport costs and terms and conditions.


Our rental products

Will I be supplied with a brand new fridge or freezer?
We can’t provide brand new fridges to all customers, but all the units we provide are less than two-years-old. They are all high quality, fully cleaned, repaired and tested prior to delivery too.

Do you provide domestic fridges and freezers?
We only supply high quality commercial refrigeration, rather than domestic appliances.

Are the fridges and freezers available in a range of colours, sizes etc.?
Most of our fridge rental products come in a variety of sizes and styles. Speak to our sales team – 0800 148 8075 (UK) | 1890 846 846 (IRL) – and we’ll be more than happy to discuss your options with you.

Where can I find out the exact specifications of my equipment?
We include specification sheets for each product online. You can access these by going to the relevant page(s), while our team will also happily send these documents to you on request by email.

Do you offer a full company branding service?
Yes – we provide a free mock-up visual that shows your branding on your chosen fridge or freezer! We can also arrange the printing on request and at an additional cost.

Do you allow customers to brand fridges themselves?
Yes, customers can arrange the branding themselves either on site or at our warehouse.

I can’t find the product I wish to hire on your website. Can you help?
Our website shows our core range of fridge rental products, but do call us if you can’t find what you’re looking for and we’ll be happy to discuss your exact needs with you.


Service and maintenance

Do I have to pay for any service costs during the rental period?
No – all fridge hire contracts come with a full service and maintenance warranty for the entire duration of the contract. We cover any labour or parts costs required in the unlikely event of a breakdown during that time.

If my fridge breaks down, how long does it usually take for an engineer to arrive on site
We aim to respond to all service calls within 24 hours if logged between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday.

What is the procedure for logging service calls?
You will find our dedicated service number on your fridge. Call this and we’ll arrange for a local engineer to come and investigate the problem if it can’t be resolved over the phone.

If my fridge cannot be fixed by your engineer, will it be replaced?
In the unlikely event of a fridge being deemed unrepairable, Refrigeration Rentals will arrange for a replacement fridge to be provided.


Deliveries and collections

Can you provide any advice prior to delivery of a fridge?
Before we deliver a fridge or freezer, please let us know if there are any obstructions that could pose a problem – e.g. parking restrictions for articulated vehicles; narrow doorways; steps, lifts or stairs etc. If you provide us with these details, we’ll make sure your delivery goes as smoothly as possible.

Can I arrange my own transport?
We deliver and collect all our fridge rental equipment because we have staff who are fully trained to transport delicate refrigeration equipment.

How long does it take to deliver after an order is placed?
After an order is placed and necessary paperwork is complete, Refrigeration Rentals usually deliver within 3-5 working days.

What days do you deliver and collect fridges?
Our drivers can deliver to and collect from areas across the UK and Ireland between Mondays and Fridays, excluding bank holidays. Please call us on 0800 148 8075 (UK) or 1890 846 846 (IRL) and we’ll let you know what days we can deliver to your area.

What time shall I expect the fridge to arrive?
We deliver and collect fridges between 09:00 and 17:00. If you require delivery or collection at a specific time, let us know your preferred times when placing an order and we’ll do our utmost to meet these times.
